Complex Networks Emerging From Large Databases: New Mathematical and Computational Tools
Bertrand Jouve
Who is:

Prof. Bertrand Jouve is professor of mathematics at the University Lumière Lyon 2, France, and he is project manager at the Institute for Humanities and Social Sciences (InSHS) of the French National Centre of Scientific Research (CNRS).

Abstract of communication:

In many experimental data sets, some information can be either represented as networks or interpreted in the context of networks. These networks are usually dynamic and multi-scale. The mathematical and computational tools we have for the exploration and modeling of static networks are inadequate and few is done for such dynamic complex networks. Scientific challenges are really different and new tools must be built if we want to extract this information present in these large dynamic databases.
